Miyazaki Torazō and his wife
Miyazaki Torazō was born in Saga. He
came to Taiwan in March 1900. He started his
career as a clerk in Uneya, a shop, and opened
his restaurant later. He moved it to the current
location in 1912, and named the restaurant
“Miyatokan”, earning a great deal of wealth
through the operation and becoming a huge
success in the field. The current building is a
newly-built one on which Miyazaki invested
tens of thousands of Japanese yen in 1930.
