Otohime, a restaurant

Terachi Kyojiro was from
Hiroshima Prefecture. He came to
Taiwan in 1895, and opened a hotel
named “Sachirou” in 1899, which
was later renamed the “Meijikan.” It
w a s c o n s i d e r e d o n e o f t h e
indispensable hotels in Magong. In
1919, Terachi transformed the hotel
into a restaurant named “Otohime.”
It was said to be the best restaurant in
Magong, and was quite popular
among people. The restaurant also
contributed significantly to the
industry.
