Mao Isle (tens of thousands of birds flying)

A l t h o u g h M a o I s l e i s a n
uninhabited rock island, it is the home
to tens of thousands of seabirds, which
will flock to the sky like swirling clouds
of dust upon the sound of steam
whistles. It is a great sight to behold.

The tomb of Officer Kado and his family
I heard that the Kados, a family of
three, died of an unknown fever in one
day. Therefore, I composed a short poem
about this sad story: Their coffins were
made from wood torn down from the
ceiling/ And their bodies cremated in
the fire created by burning furniture/
Lamentable!
