Itō Hospital

Itō Hospital and Itō Masashige
Itō Masashige was from Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. He
came to Taiwan in August 1911, and was assigned to serve at the
Penghu Hospital as a doctor until October 1916. He was widely
trusted by patients during his tenure. After his term ended, he
founded a hospital at its current location. In the next ten years,
until November 1926, he again won people's trust with his
kindness while serving as a public doctor here. He was considered
a successful figure in Magong and was respected by the general
public. He now plays a vital role in the Council of Magong Town
and continues to serve the people there.
