Iwata Iwaichirō
Iwata Iwaichirō was born in Okayama Prefecture. He came to
Taiwan as a soldier in 1896. He started working as an employee at the
Taichung Prefectural Government in April 1910, after he retired from
the military. By the time he retired from the position as the Director of
the Monopoly Bureau Hengchun Branch, he had already been serving
as a public servant for 19 years.
In August 1928, Iwata's business was authorized with a
dealership to sell tobacco in Magong and has won over people's trust.
Iwata himself is also an active individual in the region, and serves as a
public servant in the Magong Town Council.
