Ÿ Offering mobile medical services and installing first aid stations.
The prefectural government dispatched three contracted doctors every month
to Jiangjunao and Yuping of Wangan Village and Jibei Isle of Baisha Village, all of
which are offshore isles with more population than others but lacking doctors, to
provide regular mobile medical services. The government also set up first aid
stations at the police stations in Jiangjunao and Jibei, which provide officers with
hygiene equipment and over 60 kinds of basic medicines to assist in first aid.
Ÿ Building a new lounge in the Penghu Shrine.
The newly-built Penghu Shrine does not feature a lounge, causing
inconvenience to its pilgrims during summer and winter, especially officials and
soldiers who visit the place by naval vessels. Therefore, the Directorate decided to
build a 40 m2 brick pavilion on the Shrine's compound, using a fund of 650
Taiwanese yen from revenues earned during movie-airing activities starting from
November 1931 and donations from local philanthropists. The construction
initiated on December 25th of the same year was completed on January 28, 1932;
the structure was given to the Penghu Shrine on February 10th.
Ÿ Donating funds to the Veterans' Association.
To sponsor the plan that the Veterans' Association conjured up for the
Mukden incident , the Female Patriots' Association collected a donation of 132.3
Taiwanese yen, and presented it with an extra 100 Taiwanese yen from the
Directorate to the group.
