Increasing Japanese literacy

While “Japanese Language Schools” are set up in Magong Town, other
villages organize study clubs at night during fallow seasons. Activities
enhancing Japanese literacy across the whole Prefecture are also held twice a
year to promote Japanese education.

Teenage scouts

There are three male groups, one female group, and one youth maritime
group.

Rotating movies

To further enlighten the locals, the Prefecture organized movie weeks
and played movies in theaters in towns and villages following the monthly
schedule. The project generated good results.

Library

The Prefecture got its library this year and gave people access to
rotating collections from the Library of the Government-General of
Taiwan.
