Café Marufuku and Fukuda Katsuzō
Fukuda Katsuzō is of Saga origin. He came to Penghu as a staff
member of the Harashouten in March 1911. He continued to serve in the
shop for another six years before turning to a coal business and a shop
selling western goods. However, seeing the lack of cafés in Magong, at
which the military is stationed, he switched to manage Café Marufuku in
November 1930, which turns out to be a success and is now indispensable
in Magong.
