Kao Tien-tsai, the ice wholesaler
Kao is a pioneer who started ice
wholesale when he was still in the Magong
Branch of the Nitto Ice Incorporated. He is now
a successful businessman, especially trusted by
the Japanese.

Tadono Ichimatsu, his wife, and servants
Tadono is of Wakayama origin. He
came to Taiwan on March 24, 1895, by the
naval ship Shibata. He was one of the
survivors of the Penghu invasion.

Tadono used to run a well-known
restaurant and people dubbed him the
“Sushi Ichi” for it. They still refer to him
by that nickname now.

Ta d o n o i s n o w i n c h a r g e o f
foodservice and sales at the hospital. He
is popular among patients and the general
public.
