17世紀以降，因戰亂、飢荒等因素，使得福建沿海的漢人大量移動。澎湖是渡臺前的必經之地，也是追求安居樂業的住所。在面對未知環境的情況，宗教信仰成為心靈的寄託。
永恆的神祇與居民共同落地生根，代代相傳，澎湖成為漢人的永生仙境。


Since the 17th century, wars and famines urged a large migration of Chinese people from the coastal regions of Fujian province. Penghu became a crucial stop before they settling in Taiwan and sometimes the peaceful harbor for a better life. In facing all the uncertainties of the new environment, those immigrants relied on religious beliefs to get spiritual comfort. 
Henceforth, both the immortals and the mortals took root on this archipelago, passing their traditions down through generations, making Pescadores a blessed land for the emigrated Chinese people
