Silver Pescadores

After the great geographical discoveries of the 15th century, the Far East lasting in mythical legends turned into the destination for European overseas traders. Ships set sail from home ports, braving months of tough voyage before reaching China, Japan, or Southeast Asia. In these foreign markets, they bartered coins or silver for spices, ceramics, and silk, returning to cities like Amsterdam, Lisbon, etc.
The Penghu Islands (aka Pescadores) were not alone in that era. Dreams began and ended, traders survived and strived, and people left or stayed there. Thus, this archipelago appeared in world history.
