EMBA alumni from I-Shou University and National Sun Yat-sen University visited Penghu today (2nd) to take part in the Penghu Cross-Island Marathon. While challenging themselves and enjoying the island’s beautiful scenery, the alumni also demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility. The two alumni associations jointly launched the charity initiative “Small Acts of Kindness Gather into Great Love,” in which alumni voluntarily contributed donations. All proceeds were donated to the Penghu Slow-Flying Angels, providing meaningful support to disadvantaged groups through concrete action.
In the evening, Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuang-Fu, accompanied by Deputy Magistrate Lin Chieh-Hsing, personally met with the alumni to express his appreciation and convey heartfelt respect for their charitable efforts. He noted that he was grateful to the EMBA alumni of both universities for traveling across the sea to Penghu, for bringing athletic enthusiasm to the island, and for sharing warmth and care that allow kindness to continue circulating across the archipelago, creating a positive and uplifting force.
Chen Kuang-Fu also enthusiastically introduced Penghu’s popular attractions and cultural heritage sites, including the World War II–era Xiyu Ammunition Depot, the national historic monument Xiyu West Fort, the century-old Xiyu Lighthouse, and the war-era military hideout on Wang’an known as the Shinyo Boat Base. He invited the alumni to explore Penghu’s rich natural landscapes and cultural diversity, to experience the island’s distinctive charm, and to return next summer for the Penghu International Fireworks Festival to once again share in Penghu’s romance and vibrancy.
