Toyama Transport and Tourism Director-General 蔵堀祐一 visits Kuang-fu Chen

    To actively strive for the organization of the XV World Congress 2019 of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, The Toyama Transport and Tourism Director-General 蔵堀 led Assistant 油本達義 and Chief 村上理沙 of the Tourism Promotion Office to visit Penghu Magistrate Kuang-fu Chen on Month 31 to ask for advice regarding Penghu’s success in striving to organize the XIV World Congress 2018. According to Director-General 蔵堀, Toyama will send a delegation to the XIV World Congress 2018 to be held in Penghu. After showing gratitude to Director-General 蔵堀’s compliment, Magistrate Chen expressed his wish to visit the beautiful Toyama Bay.

    According Magistrate Chen, Penghu is an offshore county formed by over 90 islands spreading across 8,000km2 of waters, making it suitable for developing ocean tourism and recreation. Apart from the marina at the First Fishing Harbor, four more marines will be built in the next four years to promote island hopping.

    Magistrate Chen added, the XIV World Congress 2018 will be held in the form of a carnival, with events including the Global Charity Queen, the 2018 Challenge Taiwan, the Taiwan International Boat Show, the Taiwan Food Festival, and the Bay Forum, to advertise the beauty of Penghu to the world, increase the visibility of Penghu and enable more people to explore Penghu.

    According to Director-General 蔵堀祐一, Toyama Bay joined the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World in April 2014, and Toyama prefectural councilors visited the Club’s headquarters in France this August to apply for the organization of the XV World Congress. Toyama wishes to develop close interaction with Penghu and will send a delegation to the XIV World Congress to prepare for XV World Congress and to support Penghu for organizing the XIV World Congress.

    Deputy Magistrate Jia-sing Lin also attended the meeting to exchange opinions on tourism, travel, and the World Congress with Toyama Prefecture officials.
