Naioyu
- Introduction:
- “Naio” means “bird” in Chinese, and it is said that the name of the islet comes from the fact that it is home to many species of birds. Another possibility is that the name comes from a cliff shaped like a nest. Most of Naioyu habitants make a living by catching fish. Few visitors come here, so the villagers retain a very close relationship with each other. During the harvesting season of silver anchovies, villagers gather around at dusk to eat supper, chat, and process their catch for the day.
