Just like unique pearls shining on the ocean, Penghu islands have a long coast, amazing landscapes, clear sea-waters and abounding natural resources, such as wind and solar energy. The islanders are friendly and pure, sticking to their disciplines. The history of Penghu is a long page of elites’ efforts and contributions, leading to a promising future. As a governmental employee for more than 30 years, I have been involving extensively in the development of Penghu. I shall continue my dedicated efforts in the future development of Penghu.

My efforts shall try to realize the goal “Happy Penghu, Blissful Homeland” on the principles of practicality, planning, science, sustainability and diversification. The focus shall be on the balanced development of the city and rural communities, to create strong links among and between residents. Tourism is one of the areas to be developed, besides protections of natural environments and legacy. People and the Nature will continue to co-exist and inter-depend in Penghu, a happy wonderland.

Clear waters, blue sky, fresh air, beautiful beach, sailboard, sea wave, cactus and basalt… these are some of Penghu’s attractions. The focus of future works shall be to maintain and create unique features for different regions in Penghu. Our goals include:

1. To maintain a balanced development between people, industries and natures;
2. To enhance protections of natural resources and cultural legacy;
3. To further make advantage of local natural energies to promote a green wonderland;
4. To improve efficiency and effectiveness of the governmental functions;
5. To have more efforts to increase happy feelings of Penghu residents – this invisible property, of course, is more important than financial income;
